5 drinks that I am now desperate to try at Cocktails In The City - London 2018

In case it wasn't clear from that time I covered the best drinks of Cocktails In The City 2017, or that time I tried FIFTEEN of the drinks on offer at Cocktails In The City 2018, I'm a big fan of Cocktails In The City.

So imagine my delight that this event has rolled around again for another year. It takes place on 4th-6th April at The Vaults of Waterloo where 25 of London's best bars will compete again to be crowned the bestest of all the best bars in Best Bar Land.

At this point, obviously, if you haven't already done so, you'll be wanting a link to buy some tickets then.

Because I can't wait and be satisfied simply with the experience of the evening, I have done some prior research and found these drinks that I now cannot WAIT to try.

Caprese Martini (Novikov)

60ml Mozzarella infused Grey Goose
20ml tomato and basil Noilly Prat.
Is this... is it... a PIZZA-flavoured martini? I mean, I know it's not, but it certainly sounds heavily influenced by pizza. And that Grey Goose infusion? Oof.

Tropical Julep (Four Sisters)

35ml Lemongrass and lemon balm infused Rebel Yell Small Batch Bourbon
25ml Mango Bitter
15ml passionfruit honey
Garnished with lemon balm, lemongrass and homemade mango fudge.
I've recently been enjoying my very own bottle of Rebel Yell Small Batch Bourbon, but this infusion sounds incredible? Plus a fudge garnish instantly improves a cocktail by 70% and that's just a mixological fact.

The Botanist Brew (Cahoots)

35ml The Botanist Gin
30ml Allotment mix
25ml lemon juice
5ml rocket tincture
40ml elderflower soda top.
An allotment mix and a rocket tincture? This is taking savoury notes to a whole new level. Either way, it's a Cahoots mix, so there's no way this isn't going to be amazing.

B&H Garden Punch (Bourne & Hollingsworth Group)

35ml St Germain Elderflower Liqueur
15ml Oxley Gin
20ml lemonbalm cordial
fresh lemon juice
lavender bitters
Topped with Real Kombucha Dry Dragon.
Garnished with lemonbalm and micro flowers.
An amazing mix of flavours here. Lemonbalm, elderflower, lavender... you can almost smell the micro flowers before they garnish with the micro flowers.

Saint Lucy (Laki Kane)

50ml Mount Gay XO
10ml Muscat Dessert Wine
10ml Rubis Chocolate Wine
20ml Amaretto Saliza
2 drops of vanilla essence
1 bar spoon of unsalted yoghurt
10g dehydrated banana
Served with an espresso dark chocolate.
This is a lot to unpack. Chocolate wine? Why haven't I been drinking this every night? A barspoon of unsalted yoghurt, dessert wine, vanilla essence, dehydrated banana... I can see how it all works, but that's a whole bunch of interesting flavours.
You can see even more drinks available at the event, along with some mouthwatering words accompanying each pic, here.

Aaaaand at this point, obviously, you'll be wanting that link to buy some tickets again then.
